Mr. De Muth was born on February 3, 1912 in the Town of Spruce, Oconto County to Mr. and Mrs. Peter De Muth. On October 11, 1933 he married Marie Hansen in Oconto County, WI. She survives.
George was a retired farmer and was presently employed as a substitute mail carrier and carpenter. Mr. De Muth was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irma and was a former elder of the church. He was also past president of St. Paul's congregation.
Survivors besides his wife include a daughter Mrs. John (Donna) Bruce of Cheney, Washington; two sons Roger of Merrill and James of Pewaukee; three brothers, Roy of Milwaukee, Emil of Oconto Falls, and Edward of San Antonio, TX; two sisters Mrs Myrtle Klodia of Manitowoc and Mrs Richard Watts of Los Alamos, NM along with seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 12, 1974 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irma. The Rev. John McClelland officiated and burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.
