Ted was an avid sports fan and loved theatre. He directed many plays at Delta State and helped several students to pursue a career in the field. He also enjoyed working on his class reunions for Cleveland High School.
Ted was a retired Delta State University Speech and Drama professor, where he taught for nearly forty years, and retired box office manager for the Bologna Performing Arts Center.
Ted is survived by his wife, Portia; sister Peggy (Vince) Ruane of Batesville, Arkansas; nieces Cherin Pace of Batesville, Arkansas and Laurie (Jim) Redden of Springfield, Missouri; step-son Jason (Karen) Mullen of Southaven; step-daughter Jenny (Dave) Williams of Vardaman; grandsons Cameron (Jody) Denney of Columbus and Zack Coleman of Kilmichael; and granddaughter Jenna Coleman of Vardaman.
