Darrell Eugene Cowen, 67, of Brady, Texas passed away early on Thursday, June 10, 2021.

Darrell was born on October 3, 1953, to Louis and Grace Cowen in Brawley, California.

He graduated from Corona High School in 1971.

While Darrell was known to have done many things in his life, bull riding, bareback bronc riding, and rodeo clowning was on his list of favorites. His jobs included eighteen plus years working for McCulloch County as a county employee and fifteen plus years for Wal-Mart. Other jobs included driving trucks and working as a farm and ranch hand, along with many other jobs.

Darrell's one true passion lay around Traditional Country Music and on any given day, in any given moment he would be listening to or humming and singing whatever song that was fitting to the mood. It can be said that Darrell was most known for the time and dedication he volunteered to the Heart of Texas Country Museum and its foundation. From the beginning, Darrell could be found helping the front desk and giving countless tours of the treasures found there that he could share that love.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Grace Cowen, three brothers, Tex, Glendon, and Aaron, one sister, Delia Hooper and granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Cowen.
