Harry L. Schmidt, 69, of 503 E. 6th St, Merrill, died on Friday, July 7, 1995 at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill.
He was born on August 22, 1925 in Merrill the son of the late Edwin and Hazel Osness Schmidt. He married Elaine Gehrke in Merrill on June 28, 1947.
A lifelong resident of the Merrill area, Harry was parts manager for the Whitburn and Schroeder Ford dealerships in Merrill. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he served as n elder and usher, as well as being a member of the church's school board. Harry enjoyed golfing, as well as being with his grandchildren and family. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Harry is survived by his wife, Elaine, Merrill; two daughters, Julie (Jim) Wiederhoeft, Merrill; and Debbie (Chris) Snow of Bradenton, FL; a son Gary (Jeanne) Schmidt, Merrill; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday morning, July 10, 1995 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Merrill. The Rev. Alden J. Beversdorf officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.
