Dorothy F. Sedlacek, 88, 15520 Hwy. Q, town of Gibson, entered into eternal life Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at St. Mary's at Felician Village in Manitowoc. Dorothy was born Sept. 9, 1926, in the town of Carlton, Kewaunee Co., to the late William and Josephine Knedle Otradovec, and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of the Kewaunee High School and attended the Door-Kewaunee Teachers College for two years and later graduated from Silver Lake College. She was an elementary teacher in various one room school houses, and taught kindergarten for the Mishicot Public School System.

She also worked with her husband on the family farm in the town of Gibson for many years. Dorothy married Raymond L. Sedlacek on Aug. 27, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Norman. He preceded her in death April 26, 1999. She was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills, and also a member of the WI Czechs. She was very proud of her Czech heritage. Dorothy enjoyed cooking , baking, and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Maria Elena Sedlacek, Appleton; John and Cathy Sedlacek, Mishicot; Steven Sedlacek, Hudson, Wis.; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeannine and Greg Mueller, Sheboygan; four grandchildren, April, Trevor, and Derek Sedlachek, and Jeremy Mrotek; nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, William Otradovec Jr., and a sister-in-law, Elaine Peterson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills, with the Reverend Dennis Drury officiating, and assisted by Deacon Robert and Crystal Wavrunek. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot. There will be a 6 p.m. parish wake service Wednesday evening at the funeral home led by Deacon Bob and Crystal Wavrunek. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church, until the time of service at 11 a.m. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
