EDMOND — A 29-year-old Oklahoma City man committed suicide by hanging himself inside a cell at the Edmond Police Department early Saturday.
William Treavor White was arrested late Friday evening after being kicked out of The Wolf Trap bar at 1109 S. Broadway. An employee called police to report that White had been using cocaine inside the bathroom at the bar before he was asked to leave, according to a police report.
During a pat-down search, police found a white powder believed to be cocaine in White's coat pocket. He was arrested on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Within hours of his arrest, White was found hanging from a jail blanket wrapped around a phone cord, said Edmond Police spokeswoman Glynda Chu.
Officers, the Edmond Fire Department and paramedics tried to revive White, who later was pronounced dead at Edmond Medical Center, according to the report.
White had no prior criminal history in Oklahoma County, according to electronic court records.
