Marie E. Shoop, 81, a resident of Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac, died at Tjardes Health Care Center, Pontiac. She was born a daughter of Andrew and Ella Robinson Jones. She married Leo E. Shoop on Nov. 16, 1940, in Bowling Green, MO. He died May 9, 1985. Surviving are one daughter, Sharon Peterson, Pontiac; two sons, Darrel (Pat) Shoop and Stanley (Vicki) Shoop, both of Pontiac; eight grandchildren, Rhonda (Mike) Salvator, Rita (Joe) Farley, Roger Peterson Jr., Michael (Lorraine) Shoop, Lisa (Steve) Gaither, Andrew Shoop Garrels, Samantha Shoop and Lane Shoop; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Laura Meier, Pontiac, and Elnora Hoggins, Graymont. She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. She was a homemaker and was educated in Pontiac schools. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers. She loved her children and grandchildren.
