A Celebration of life service for Helen Elizabeth MYER ROBINSON, 86, of Pontiac, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac. The Reverend William Beswick of the First United Presbyterian Church, Pontiac, will officiate. Burial will be in the Southside City Cemetery, Pontiac. She died at Evenglow Tjardes Health Center, Pontiac, where she had been a resident for a year. She was born on the 16th of May 1916 at Streator, a daughter of Edgar and Grace [POTTER] MYER. Survivors include a son, Ron ROBINSON, Pontiac; a daughter, Carol Sue KEMP, Willoughby Hills, Ohio; two granddaughters, Terri [McCORMICK] [Charles] BROERMAN and Jan [McCORMICK] [Aaron] COTTLE, both of Frisco, Texas; three grandsons, Michael [Robin] McCORMICK, Carrollton, Texas; and Timothy [Amy] KEMP and Matthew [Amy] KEMP, both of Hudson; 10 great-grandchildren, Travis and Paige McCORMICK; T J, Brooke, and Benjamin COTTLE; and Dylan, Lucas, Joshua, Jeremy and Jacob KEMP; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Helen Louis "Perky" McCORMICK, and Mary Lou "Mort" ROBINSON; and a sister, Anna Lois McCUTCHEON. She was educated in Pontiac Schools. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Pontiac, and also a member of The First Presbyterian Church Family of Pontiac. She had worked as an LPN at OSF Saint James Hospital, Pontiac, for 25 years, and five years at Humiston Haven. She also did private duty nursing for many years. She made over 50 cross-stitch quilts in her retirement as gifts for family and friends.
