Lois Fassett Miller
December 4, 1924 - June 8, 2021
Fox Island, Washington - Lois Arlene Miller, 96, was born in Gig Harbor, WA, to Cecil and Thelma Fassett on December 4, 1924 and went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2021. Lois grew up in Tacoma and Parkland, graduating from Roy High School in 1942. She attended the College (later University) of Puget Sound, majoring in Physical Education. There she met George L Miller and they married after graduation in 1948. They lived and raised their family in Sumner and University Place. The Millers enjoyed a summer cabin on Fox Island and moved there permanently in 1968. In 1973 Lois became the Fox Island Postmaster, retiring in 1987. She was also actively involved in the Fox Island Historical Society and Museum, the Fox Island Garden Club, San Souci and was a founding member of the Fox Island Alliance Church. Lois and George were married for 54 years prior to his death in 2002.
Lois is survived by her children Jan Miller (Dave Steggell), Cathy (Wayne) Randle, Mike (Leslie) Miller; nephew Gary Larson (Toni Carmichael); grandchildren Erin Randle, Matt Randle (Sara), Nathan Miller, Shannon (Brent) Mattson, Lance (Krysta) Steggell, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
A memorial service is planned for 1:00 pm July 10, 2021 at the Alliance Church, 655 6th Ave, Fox Island, WA 98333. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Fox Island Museum, PO Box 242, Fox Island, WA 98333.
