Mary Carrington was the daughter of Martin and Elizabeth (Fogarty) Walsh, both born in Ireland. She was the wife of HARRY Carrington and was a homemaker.
Mary's spouse HARRY S. Carrington was a railroad conductor. Harry's father was Harry Beebee Carrington. Beebee had two wives . The 2nd wife was the widow of George Washington Grummond. George had been a brevit Lt. Colonel in the Civil War. George took Francis Courtney with him to Fort Phil Kearny in 1866. George's rank in the regular Army was 2nd Lieutenant. George wanted a higher rank. He had often gotten a higher rank when he took independent action, also called disobeying orders
On 21 Dec 1866 to get new rank, George chased 10 native Americans. The natives led George's group of 25 mounted and 50 soldiers on foot into an ambush. 25 to 45 natives died. "100 in hand battle" is also known as the Fetterman battle. George's sword was found in a wall in Wallingford, Connecticut. Look for the sale of the sword in 2015 by searching "George Grummond sword Historical Arms". The sword sold for 6 to 7 times as much as a Civil War sword normally sells for. George Pullman started his company with a man named Angell. Angell was a descendant of Thomas Angell. Thomas Angell was an indentured servant in 1630. Thomas helped Roger Williams escape a group of men who were going to put him on a vessel and have him put in jail in England to die. Thomas and native Americans helped Roger Williams to survive the Winter. Providence, Rhode Island was started by Roger Williams and his supporters.
Both George Pullman and Angell were from Chatauqua County, New York.
