CLARA DUCKART
Clara A. Duckart, age 74, a rural Denmark resident, died Wednesday, July 29, 1998, at a Manitowoc Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
A funeral Mass will be held 11 am Monday, Aug 3, 1998, at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. Officiating will be the Rev. Gerald B. Kempen, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Clara was born September 1, 1923, in the Town of Franklin, daughter of the late John and Rose (Rous) Valenta. She was a lifelong resident of the Denmark area.
On July 30, 1955, she married Raymond Duckart and the couple enjoyed over 36 years together until his death in 1991 Clara farmed the family farm for most of her life. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald (Joan) Duckart, Richard (Dona) Duckart, both of Denmark; one stepson, Edwin (Donna) Duckart, Maribel; three stepdaughters, LaVerne (Harvey) Jorgenson, Green Bay, Carol (Wayne) Herold, Manitowoc, Joyce (LeRoy) Cherney, Denmark; 24 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one son-in-law, Sylvester (Darlene) Parma, Tisch Mills; and two sisters-in-law, Maria Duckart and Bea Duckart, both of Manitowoc. She is further survived by many nieces,nephews, other relatives and special friends. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents;five sisters, Rose Bohman, Mary Sladkey, Agnes Duckart, Emily Steinberger, and Julia Siehr; and one stepdaughter, Lorraine Parma.
Friends may call at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 CTY HWY R,Denmark, from 4 pm and 9 pm on Sunday, August 2, 1998, and after 9 am Monday until the cortege leaves for church. A Parish Prayer Service will be held Sunday at 8 pm at the funeral home.
