John H. Heiner, 88, pioneer oil operator and Civil War veteran, died at his home Saturday. He enlisted at Kittanning when 17 and served throughout the war as a member of Co. A, Eighth Pennsylvania reserves. He was the last survivor of his company. He operated in the Parker and Petrolia oil fields for many years and removed to Butler 27 years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and Grand Army of the Republic. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Mary P. Heiner, a son, John P. Heiner, Philadelphia, two daughters, Mrs. Paul Sturtevant, New York and Miss Helen G. Heiner, Butler, a brother, David B. Heiner, Kittanning, two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Core, Washington, Pa., and Mrs. Percy E. Tripp, Miami, Fla.
