BALLARD, WV – Terrence Nolan "Terry" Beckett, age 83, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at the Country View Assisted Living in Peterstown, WV. Born December 12, 1937, in Salt Sulphur Springs, WV, he was the son of the late John and Rhoda E. Lawhorn Beckett. Terry was a member of the Ballard Baptist Church. He was a retired U.S. Navy Veteran, having served for 23 years and achieving the rank of Navy Chief Warrant Officer, CWO-4. He enjoyed traveling and loved to play golf. So much so, he made his own custom clubs and became a Golf Pro so that he could teach and share his passion with others. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Burcham Beckett; and one son, Scott Beckett. Survivors include his wife, Chonita Cummings Beckett of Ballard, WV; one son, Gregory Sean Beckett and wife Laura of Tucson, AZ; one daughter, Teresa Anderson and husband Mark of Bozoo, WV; one stepdaughter, Deborah Mann and husband Rodney of Clinton, TN; one sister, June Canterbury of Ballard, WV; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one step grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with military rites will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Dave Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at the Indian Mills Cemetery in Indian Mills, WV, with Carl Adams, Rodney Mann, Landon Mann, Mark Anderson, Gregory Beckett, Seth Mann, and Matt Canterbury serving as pallbearers. Dale Belcher, Gary White, and the late Eddie Poff will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 1:00PM until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Terry's name to the Ballard Christian School (1395 Adair Ridge Road, Ballard, WV 24918).
