She was born and raised in Muncie, Ind., and attended Southside Senior High School. Chris later moved to St. Louis where she worked as an auditor for Super X Drug and then as a nurse at Delmar Gardens. With her love of antiques, she eventually opened Teaberry Antiques on Cherokee Antique Row in St. Louis. She and her husband, Joe, also helped manage the family farm in Saline County, which is a three-generation Missouri Century Farm.
Chris is survived by her husband of 37 years, Joe (Frank J.) Humphreys, of St. Louis, originally of Marshall; daughter, Maranda Humphreys; stepson, Scott Humphreys; stepdaughter, Laura Skarne; sisters, Carolyn King, Doris Rahn and Joyce Chong; as well as four nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Chris's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Salem in Ladue United Methodist Church, 1200 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131. Memorial donations in memory of Chris can be made to the Salem in Ladue United Methodist Church or the Pedal the Cause organization (A world without cancer).
