Marye Jo was born in Washington, D.C., to Anthony Vogel, Jr. and Ida Berry Vogel on April 18, 1941. She attended Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Virginia, and later Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia, for two years. She married William Timmons on April 16, 1966, in Annandale, Virginia.

She worked as a Secretary in the Fairfax County Fire Marshall's Office for 12 years. Later, she worked as a Business Analyst with the Federal Government.

Marye Jo was actively involved in her children's activities, including PTA and sports teams, as well as volunteering in her local Mason District community. She loved crossword puzzles, sewing, and traveling to quilt rallies with her husband, Bill. Together, they also enjoyed spending time with their many friends, both in Annandale and the Shenandoah Valley, where they would gather to enjoy karaoke. She cherished participating in the lives of her six grandchildren, including attending recitals, sporting events, graduations, and simply just spending time with one another as a family.

She was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

Marye Jo is preceded in death by her parents Anthony Vogel, Jr. and Ida Berry Vogel, brothers Anthony Vogel III and James Berry Vogel.

She was the beloved wife of Bill Timmons; loving mother of Denise Timmons Pollin and her husband Eric, and David Timmons and his wife Bekah; sister of Anastasia Thompson (Paul), and Joseph Vogel (Sharon); and cherished grandmother of Sara Anne Pollin, Mary-Catherine Grace Pollin, Luke Asher Pollin, Hope Caroline Pollin, Patrick Ryan Timmons, and Kevin Sean Timmons.

Pallbearers will be Roger Dellinger, Jim Johnson, Jerry Sall, Gary Indre, Tom Ritchie and Chris Raabe.
