He is survived by his sons: Bruce (Ellen) Hanlon and Jim (Sandy) Hanlon. His grandchildren are Carrie (Jeff) Berge, Gregg (Tina) Hanlon, Deanna Hanlon, and Brian Hanlon; five great- grandchildren, Todd (fiancée Erika) Hanlon, Kathryn Hanlon, Max Hanlon, Sawyer Hanlon, and Grace Hanlon; as well as many nieces and nephews, and extended family Sharon and Ella Huss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of sixty three years, Grace, a son Dennis, sisters Ruth (Dave) Wiegand and Hazel (Ginter) Krause, and by brothers Emil (Delores) Grall and Lawrence (Dorothy) Grall.
The funeral liturgy for Howard will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street in Appleton. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service. Burial will full military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
