In 1742, she married Augustus William, Prince of Prussia (1722-1758), the second son of King Frederick William I of Prussia (1688-1740). Because his older brother, Frederick the Great (1712-1786), had no children, their oldest son inherited the throne as King Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia (1744-1797).
