The son of Henry Hoover and Anna Wertz.
The Jacob Hoover family lived along Red Run at Hoover Spring, three miles east of Waynesboro, Washington Twp., Franklin County, PA.
They had the following children: Susan Hoover, first married James Ripple, after his death she married Jacob Ditch; Henry Hoover; George Hoover; Elizabeth Hoover, married David Row and removed to Kanas; Jacob Hoover; Abraham Hoover; Anna Hoover, married Christian W. Shockey; David Hoover; Mary Hoover, married Jacob C. Stouffer; Catherine Hoover, married Daniel W. Hartman; Rebecca Hoover, married Thomas Cunningham; Isabella Hoover; John O. Hoover and Sarah Hoover, married Josiah Hartman.
