John (Johann) Albrecht was born in 1863 the second-born child of John (Johann) C. Albrecht and Caroline (Carolina) Fidalus Albrecht Doerr. The family were Protestants. In 1863 the three of them, and John's older sister, Augusta Albrecht, sailed from Bremen, Germany onboard the ship Ocean to Baltimore, Maryland in America, arriving on September 7. John died on the voyage on July 19.
