While working for Morrison Knudson on a job in Suriname, South America, he met Monique, who he would later marry.
In 1981, at the age of 29, he celebrated the birth of his son Alexander. The same year he was also diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. David became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Idaho on September 30, 1980. He was later admitted to the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants on March 24, 1982. He retired as a CPA on July 1, 1994 at the age of 42 due to disability.
As a Boise State alumnus, he was a strong supporter of the school, and an avid fan of the Broncos. He could often be seen zipping down the streets in his wheelchair decked out in blue and orange during game days. When at home, he would enjoy listening to classic rock and keeping up-to-date with current events.
At age 68, David passed away on June 28, 2021 due to complications related to COVID-19 and underlying conditions caused by Multiple Sclerosis. He is preceded by his parents Ida and William Anneker. He is survived by his son Alexander Anneker and by his brother Bill Anneker.
