Nelson Eddy Barham, Sr, 83, of Reidsville, went to his heavenly home into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Rockingham County Hospice House.
Nelson was born in Reidsville to the late William Lane Barham and Edith Barham. He worked with American Tobacco, and retired in 1992. He spent the years that followed enjoying every moment with his beloved wife. Nelson loved his family passionately; he loved traveling, and acquired many hobbies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randall Earl Barham; his brothers, Sonny Boy, Wayne, Steve, Houston, W.L,, Melvin, Royce and Charles Barham; sisters, Martha Jane Smothers, Francis Krites, and Mary Tolley.
Nelson is survived by his wife of 29 years, Gloria Swink Barham of the home; son, Nelson Eddy Barham, Jr and wife, Melissa; daughter, Tammy Barham Douglas, and husband, Brian; step-daughter, Donna Kay Johnson and husband, David; step-son, David B Sandel, Jr, and wife, Sandy; grandchildren, Eddy Barham III, Tommy Johnson, Brandon Barham, Tyler Johnson, Miranda Anderson, Chelsea Johnson Gaetke, Lacy Bratton, Brendall King, Kody Barham, Ashlyn Sandel, Abigail Sandel, Belle Barham, and Isaac Barham; great grandchildren, Brelynn Pruitt, Micah Johnson, Brayleigh Barham, Maisyn Anderson, Reagan Johnson, and Kasen King.
The family will have a Memorial Service followed by a Celebration of Life at Reidsville Alliance Church, 1300 Freeway Drive, Reidsville, NC, on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
