I am a dog lover and have had many over my lifetime. Each one brought a special gift to cherish. Last week I had to say goodbye to my precious Zoe. Zoe was "MY GIRL" She followed me everywhere I went,my little shadow. Zoe was a Shichon which is a Shih Tzu and Bichon mix. These pups are also known as "Teddy Bear Dogs." Eleven years ago my daughter and I went to look at some puppies that were for sale. There were several breeds and all adorable but the moment I saw this little girl I knew she was the one! I brought Zoe to the vet to have her checked out and was told she was severely dehydrated and needed an IV. The vet told me if I hadn't brought her in she would have likely died. (That was one lousy breeder) Anyway,Zoe was a fighter and was like new in a few weeks. She remained very healthy until last summer when we found out she had cancer. My vet told me there was a good chance he could remove all the cancer cells by operating on her tummy. Her operation was successful! Zoe was full of life...never stopped. I loved watching her run and play with my other pup,Bandit, who is a Havanese. Then, two weeks ago she started coughing,it sounded awful. They always get their vaccines so I couldn't figure what was wrong. I took Zoe to my vets thinking she had somehow picked up kennel cough and that's when I was told she was having heart failure. Her lungs were full of fluid and she couldn't breathe well. On the ex-ray it looked like a mass by her heart.....the cancer had come back. I was shocked....I still am. Zoe did come back home today in a little box. It reads, ZOE , I saved you, but..... you really saved me♥ I sang to her in the car and told her she would be going to Heaven....but to be waiting for me. Thank you Lord, for the gift of precious Fur Babies that love us unconditional. Jesus gives Zoe her belly rubs now♥
