PVT - Co A, 1st US Colored Troops Heavy Artillery - Enlisted; Feb. 8, 1864. Mustered out; Mar. 31, 1866.

Harrison Badgett is placed here based upon information found in the book, "Gone So Soon - The Cemeteries of Blount County, Tennessee," Vol IV, p. 1. This book, by Robert McGinnis, also includes a copy of the "Will of Harrison Badgett."

Harrison Badgett served as a Union soldier. He was a private, Co. A, 1 USCHA. A government cemetery marker was requested for him, and shipped to Rockford, Blount Co., Tn. This application can be found in "Tennessee Ancestors," August 2012, in the article, Tombstones of Tennessee Union Civil War Veterans, p. 9.

Harrison Badget also filed for a pension 20 November 1889.

Harrison Badgett is found in the following US Federal census records:
- 1880 for Blount Co., Tn - age 28, occupation farmer, widower, cannot read or write, owns his home, living with his son, Alexander age 6
- 1890 Veterans Census - enlisted 8 Feb., 1864 - discharged 1866, served 2 years , one month, 3 days
- 1900 for Blount Co., Tn - age 52, occupation farmer, widowed, cannot read or write, owns his own home, with his older brother, Andy

We know from his will of 22 June 1903, that his brother, Andy, and his son, King Coffin, and his cousin, Josie McCollum were his heirs. He left behind mules, plows, bees, a wagon, household goods and money. He signed with his mark, and Howard Bargett was the executor of his will.
