CHESAPEAKE – Kenneth William Singletary, 80, of the 1500 block of Pine Grove Lane went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 4, 2021. He was born to the late Carlee and Agnes Singletary on February 16, 1941 in Cross City, Florida; but spent the majority of his life in Portsmouth and Chesapeake, VA. After retiring as a Production Controller from Norfolk Naval Shipyard with 42 years of service, he changed careers and worked for Chesapeake Public Schools as a bus driver, so he could drive his grandbabies to and from elementary and middle school. He was a member of Portsmouth Masonic Lodge #100. Anyone who knew Ken, knew that he loved his wife, family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jean H. Singletary; two daughters, Kim Singletary Diaz and Dawn Singletary Bangley; five granddaughters, Brittany, Jessie and Brandy Diaz and Kendall and Casey Bangley; a host of extended family; and his beloved dogs, Roxanne and Rufus.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, July 8, 2021 in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 – 7 PM.
