John C. "Jack" Konop

Manitowoc, WI - John C. "Jack" Konop, age 86, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021.

Jack was born June 27, 1935 in Two Rivers, son of the late Matt and Eunice (Bauknecht) Konop. He was a graduate of Washington High School with the Class of 1953 and received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Jack was united in marriage to the former Darlene Miller Markusen on May 4, 2018 in Ephraim.

Jack was the owner/operator of Oshkosh Tool Company and Best of Seven in Omro, WI. Prior to that, Jack was employed at Metal Ware Corporation for 10 years as head of Manufacturing and Paragon Electric Company as Director of Manufacturing.

Jack enjoyed time spent with family and friends. His favorite hobby was traveling, visiting 18 countries in the last several years with his wife. Jack's most treasured trip was to Czechoslovakia following the footsteps of his Father, Matt, during WWII. Most summer days Jack could be found in the yard watering and fertilizing the flowers and cutting the grass. Jack was a past member of the St. Francis of Assisi Men's choir and a 50 year blood and platelet donor.

Survivors include his wife: Darlene Konop, Manitowoc; his children: Mark (Kelli) Konop, Kaukauna; Jeff Konop, La Vernia, TX; Scott (Karen) Konop, Ashwaubenon; Drew (Nicole) Konop, Delafield; mother of his children: Joan LaFond-Schultz, Manitowoc; one step son: Wayne (Melissa) Genrich, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Nate, Alexandria, Kara, Erick, Bennett, Brandon, Dalton; one great grandson: Leo; his siblings: June (Jerry) Lamers, Sun Prairie; Kay Dewane, Manitowoc; Bob (Mary) Konop, Vernon Hills, IL; Jane (Rick) Krcma, Valders; Eileen (Lee) Kummer, Manitowoc; Jean (Bob) Lockington, Two Rivers; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law John Dewane.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, July 10, 2021 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with cremation to take place following services. There will be NO Friday evening visitation.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
