Curtis Elwood Aber was born to Isaac J. Aber and Sarah Amanda Ruble. Curtis' father died when he was five. When he was older he moved to Benton County, Indiana with his brother. Curtis married Olive Hughes on April 22nd, 1901. He then moved to Montgomery County, Indiana where he lived the rest of his life. He and Olive had two daughters, Ruth and Florence.
