Henry County native Bernice E. Meacham, 87, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Spring Meadows Health Care Center in Clarksville.

The funeral service was planned at 3 p.m. today at Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home in Clarksville.

John D. Laida and Roger Freeman were to officiate. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville.

Named as pallbearers were Mark, C.J. and Stephen Stanley, Matt Nickerson, Michael Cook and Rich Shadden.

Visitation was Thursday and today.

Born April 8, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Edward Etheridge and Bessie Pfleuger Etheridge.

She was the widow of John Russell "Red" Meacham.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clarksville for 54 years and its Sunshine Sunday school class. She was the retired owner of Triangle Cafe and One Hour Martinizing Cleaners, both in Clarksville.

She leaves one son: John R. (Karen) Meacham Jr. of Clarksville; one daughter: Janice (Don) Bisson of Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren: Mark (Lisa) Stanley, LeAnn (Michael) Cook and Jenny (Matt) Nickerson; and five great-grandchildren: C.J., Jessica and Stephen Stanley and Alexis and Nathan Cook.

She also was preceded in death by a brother: Herman Etheridge; and a sister: Maxine Orris.
