Deborah Diane Burns, 51, Dixon, died Feb. 24, 2003, at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood.

She was born March 21, 1951, in Dixon, a daughter of Wayne and Dorothy Shelton Burns. Her mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Jack Wood, survive in Springfield.

A 1969 graduate of Dixon R-1 High School, she worked at Brown Shoe Company, Dixon. She was a self-employed housekeeper. She attended First Church of God, Dixon.

Other survivors include: one son, Rex Pennybaker, Dixon; two daughters, Apple Barnhart, Springfield, and Pepper Pemberton, Richland; one brother, Brent Barnhart, Jackson, Miss.; two sisters, Sherrie Montaruli, Nixa, and Robin Fox, Ozark; and maternal grandmother Roberta Shelton, Dixon.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. The Rev. Wilbur Warman will officiate. The remains will be cremated. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Dixon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.
