Eldon W. Young, 97 of Rt. 3, New Carlisle, died at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday in a La Porte hospital after an illness of one year. He was a retired salesman.

He was born May 4, 1891 in Salt Lake City and lived in New Carlisle 35 years, coming from Chicago. On May 4, 1930 in Waukegan, Illinois he married Anna Bouchard who survives along with a daughter, Mrs. Stephen Nicholson of La Porte; three grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Harold Booth of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the H. C. Amen & Son Funeral Home, New Carlisle with Rev. B. Linford Eyrick, pastor of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, La Porte officiating. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Young was a World War I veteran.
