In Loving Memory of Our Krystal Krystal (Krytal to her friends) Nicole Ebel was born December 28, 1988 and died in a tragic car accident December 9, 2004, along with one of her best friends Shayna Linneen. She is survived by her parents, Dennis and Donna, her twin brothers, Todd and Scott Oltmann and 4 sisters, Brooke Oltmann and Amanda, Jessica and Margaret Ebel. She will join her younger brother Nicholas who died of a brain tumor at 35 months. Although she was the youngest of the 7 she was by far the wisest of all (including her mom and dad). She was always so organized, detailed and had her life all planned out to be an emergency room physician since she was about 10 years old. Krystal loved all her siblings very much. She once said that it may seem like she had it easier being the youngest and the most spoiled but she said, "Mom, I am going to be the one that lives the longest to see all my brothers and sisters die". Krystal loved to write poems. This may have been instilled at an early age during the poetry contests at Crismon Elementary. People would comment when she was about 2 or 3 how different this little girl was. When she was 7 she wanted to be the first female United States President but a few years later found out the salary and said it wasn't worth the headaches. In a couple of weeks Krystal was about to earn the privilege of driving and she was excited to be driving her Mormor's (grandma who died in Sept) old Mustang that was repainted last week. She wanted to take road trips and go to Europe with her school this Spring. Although only 15, she was going to graduate 2 years early because she was so smart and motivated. She was anxious to attend Northern Arizona University with her sister Margaret next Fall. Her twin brothers were going to follow her also next fall after finishing their community college courses. She will be loved forever and missed beyond any words could express. In memory of Krystal, let us all fight to close high school campuses during lunch and create enough diversity in our lunch menus to satisfy the urge to leave. A memorial service will be held on Sunday December 12th at 3PM at Dobson High School Auditorium. A viewing will also be held Sunday from 7-9PM at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S Dobson Rd (480) 838-5639. Services will be held on Monday December 13th at 10AM at Desert Palm United Church of Christ, 1230 W. Guadalupe Rd. (480) 831-0065. A scholarship fund has been set up at Dobson High School to keep the memory of Krystal Ebel alive.
