Mrs. Brock was born September 30, 1953 in Champaign, IL. She was a graduate of Glades Day High School, and earned her Batchelor degree and a Masters degree in Accounting from Florida State University. Nancy spent much of her life employed in the public sector in Georgia and Florida. Since 2008, she worked for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and took pride in her service working to help ensure others could enjoy Florida's beautiful beaches and wildlife. She was previously employed with the Miller County Board of Commissioners as the County Administrator, working passionately to serve the people of Georgia. Nancy Baker Brock was a foodie, a sharp dresser, and an excellent joke teller. Nancy dearly loved her only child, Meredith, and would not hesitate to tell you the facts: her daughter was the sweetest, smartest, prettiest girl in the entire world. She was a loving and dedicated wife to husband Steve, with whom she spent over 30 years. Nancy was always the first to offer a helping hand, a word of praise, and a funny though potentially naughty joke. She loved good music and surrounded herself with it. She lived her life honestly, graciously, and generously and will be missed by her many friends, family, and colleagues. She will also be greatly missed by her dogs and grand-dogs, whom she liberally provided with many treats and chicken nuggets. Survivors include her husband, Steve Brock of Bainbridge, GA; her daughter, Meredith Brock Stanfield and her husband, Tim, of Tallahassee, FL; her siblings, Jay Baker of Palm Beach, FL, Linda Baker of Palm Beach FL, Richard Baker of Climax, GA, and Bill Baker of Climax, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. J. Allen Baker and Muriel James Baker.
