Achee, Willie Mae 'Nannie'

A native of Pointe Coupee Parish, Willie Mae was born on January 12th, 1934, at her parents home near Lakeland and passed away at Pointe Coupee General in New Roads on Monday, April 23, 2012. She was a graduate of Shady Grove High School and attended Spencer Business College in Baton Rouge, worked as a bookkeeper in Baton Rouge for Moran Motor Company and in New Orleans for Producers Drilling Company and then retired to Livonia to live with her Mother. She loved the Catholic Church and her prayers and was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. She is survived by her brother, Leroy L. Achee, Sr., five nephews and nieces, Leroy L. Achee Jr. and wife Jo, Brenda Genusa and husband Sal, Kathy Achee, Sandy Fisher and husband John, and James Achee and wife Lori; 14 great-nephews and nieces and 16 great-great nephews and nieces, her Aunt Mabel Boudreaux and her Uncle Joe and Aunt Sybil Boudreaux. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theogene Achee and Adlay Boudreaux Achee; and her sister-in-law, Janet Glaser Achee. Services will be held at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Livonia with visitation at 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. Nectan Minj. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brady Achee, Lance Achee, Sal Genusa, Don James Hadley, Brandon Achee, T.J. Achee, Aaron Fisher and Darren Fisher. Special thanks to Lakeview Manor Nursing Home for all the wonderful care they have provided for her over the years and to Pointe Coupee Hospice for making her last days comfortable. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Pointe Coupee Hospice or a charity of your choice . Niland's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
