Eula Idell Whitten passed away on July 10, 2021 at Bell Tower surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was born April 14, 1929 to the late Comer and Rosie Dowdy in Waterloo, AL. On June 5, 1947, she married Marvin C. Whitten. They were married 63 years before his passing in 2010.

She is survived by her 5 children: Fred (Jan) Whitten of Osceola, Marvin Whitten of Mishawaka, David (Dawn) Whitten of Niles, James Whitten of Mishawaka; 9 grandchildren and 12 Great grandchildren; her sister Rita Harkens and a special sister-in-law Gloria Murphy.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Charles and granddaughter Lori; 2 brothers and a grandchild.

Idell was a stay at home mom, but raising 5 boys was a job in itself. She was a talented seamstress making anything from dolls to her many beautiful quilts.

Services for Idell will be Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 11AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy Osceola, IN 46561. Friends may visit on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 4PM – 7PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Idell's memory to The Southside General Baptist Church 1615 S Spring St, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Chapel Hill is honored to care for the Whitten Family.
