Aulsie Douglas Page, 79, was lovingly greeted into his heavenly Father's arms Friday, Nov. 16, 2007. He passed away of complications from leukemia.

Doug was born in Tucumcari on Sept. 20, 1928, to Marion Aulsie Page and Jewel Dee Harden. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in both World War II and the Korean War.

On May 14, 1949, he married the love of his life, Hettie Jewell Teague. They spent more than 58 wonderful years together.

Doug entered the work force working for Navajo Refining in Artesia, and then El Paso Products Company in Odessa, Texas, until 1967, when he moved his family to Farmington and opened Doug's Barber Shop, which he operated for more than 20 years.

After a short period in the furniture business, Doug retired to enjoy the things he loved most in life — famiy, church, painting, hunting and fishing. Doug was an avid sportsman and counted a recent trip to Alaska to fish with his son as one of his most treasured memories. The Pages were dedicated to their church, The First Assembly of God, where they enjoyed "Friday Games," their church family and being involved in the new building fund.
As a member of the Four Corners Art Association, Doug was a prolific painter, specializing in landscapes of the Four Corners area which he loved.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of the family home; daughters, Karen J. Callahan or Artesia; Debra J. Cummins (Tom) of Durango, Colo.; son, Phillip Douglas Page (Wendy) of Gilbert, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with a third expected in April.

Visitation for Doug will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at First Assembly of God Church, on Fairview Avenue, with the Rev. Dewayne Bardwell officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 6450, Farmington, NM 87499.

Doug is in the care of Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., in Farmington; (505) 325-8688.
