Loraine Lady Dies On Way To Rochester Clinic
Mrs. Charles Strickler, 60, of Loraine, died about 7 o'clock last Thursday morning in an ambulance driven by J. F. Tanner, Loraine funeral director, en route to a clinic in Rochester, Minn. She was being accompanied in the ambulance by her husband and a son, Russell Walker. Her death occurred about an hour after the trip began.
Mrs. Bertha Rust Strickler, daughter of James Martin and Nancy Jane Ethington Harper, was born at Stock Dale, Kansas on December 26,___, and passed away October 2, 1947. She was united in marriage to Charles Strickler on May 17, 1920. Surviving, besides the husband, are one daughter, Mrs. Raymond Howard of Burlington, Ia., and two sons, Leroy A. Walker of Medeira, Calif., and Russell Walker of Carthage; also two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were two sons, Emery and Harold, and a daughter, Pearly May, all by a former marriage.
She was a member of the Christian church and of Star of Loraine chapter, No. 856.
Funeral services were held at the Tanner Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and at the Christian church at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Wm. Bailey was in charge. Mrs. Marjorie Hudson sang, accompanied by Miss Dorothy Faye Adair. Pallbearers were Floyd Adair, Floyd Daughtery, Floyd Shriver, Bennett Seals, Cecil Trautvetter and Harold Dulaney.

Bertha the birth year in the obituary said 1886 but stone has 1885. I tried to look on ancestry and found 1884,1885,1886 so left it blank in obituary?
