Nina Lee Fowler, 97, of Boxley; passed away at her home on July 17, 2021 from complications of a stroke she suffered July 4, 2019. She was born March 30, 1924, at Boxley; to Fred and Orphea Lee McFerrin Duty.
Nina married William D. Fowler on July 20, 1945 at Boxley; and together they were parents to one daughter. She was a member of Boxley Baptist Church where she was a song leader and Sunday school teacher for many years.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years, Bill Fowler; one son-in-law, Kenneth Tomasich; and one sister, Ina Verne Pendergrass. She is survived by her daughter, Dixie Lee Tomasich; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Kenny Fowler and Brandi Tomasich; two great-grandchildren, Israel and Elleanor Tomasich; five nieces and husbands, Mary and Skip Emmett, Sandra Sue and Gary Farmer, Kay Cooper, Patsy Giles, and Janet and Ruben Johnson; two nephews and wives, Gary and Glenda Bunch, and Michael Fred Fowler; and one brother-in-law and wife, Jimmy and Donna Fowler.
Private interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nina's name may be made to Walnut Grove Cemetery , HC 70 Box 2, Ponca, Arkansas 72760; or to Boxley Baptist Church, 98 NC 9540 Road, Ponca, AR 72670. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
