Icie Lee Vaught, 88 of Wilmore, formerly of Liberty, passed away at Thomas Hood Veteran Center on Thursday, July 3, 2014. Born April 30, 1926, he was the son of the late Sam and Leathie Edwards Vaught. He was a WWII US Navy veteran. Icie retired from Doss and Horkey where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by a special, life-long friend and caregiver, Ruby Baker of Liberty and her son, Eddie Baker of Moreland; son, Tommy Vaught of Danville; brother, Eugene Vaught of Liberty, uncle, Earl Vaught of Liberty, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sons: Gary and Harold Vaught; buddy, Levi Baker; 3 sisters: Alma Monday, Irene Bryant and Dorothy Brown; and 8 brothers: Earl, Arvin, Hermon, B.D., Melvin, Elvin, and Vallas Vaught and Sam Vaught, Jr.

Services will be at 1 pm, Tues. at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. Gary Douglas. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers are nephews: Roy C., Ronnie and Casey Vaught and Ronnie Pemberton, Joe Hamilton and Kenneth Monday. Visitation is 5-9 pm, Mon.
