In the 1870 Federal census, Hiram and Mary J. Ballinger were living in Jefferson County, Colorado Territory with their nine children.
There is no "Sarah L." listed as a child, however, there is "Lucinda," age 3 and "Levina," age 4.

Commentary by Mark S.: Census says "Hiram" but other sources refer to him as "Harmon" Ballinger. Sarah L. is more likely to have been Lucinda, since an article on Samuel Brinkerhuff (a son of James and Isabelle Brinkerhuff) states he married Lavina Ballinger ("daughter of Harmon Ballinger") in 1885.

Findagrave contributor Tracy Howard confirms that Sarah L. Ballinger and Lucinda Ballinger are one and the same person. She notes that "Lucinda" was a favorite middle name of the Ballingers. There is at least one in each generation.
