The children of Anna S Hoaren And Reemt Carl Ehnen that are buried at Houder Cemetery in Livingston County Illinois have the inscription on their stone - " S/O R + AS " or " D/O R + AS " They all have a stone in section 2. That is about half way down the center road on the left. All of the stones are unreadable [sandstone] except for the one of Ellen who died at the age of 17.

Reemt's wife Anna died in January 1872 and in February 1872, one month later, he married Hilka Carl 'Ellen' Holgelucht in Livingston County IL. Reemt had 7 children with Anna and 6 with Ellen.


The Will of Rempt Ehnen states his children will inherit at age 21 - John Uphoff given guardianship. All of these children are Reemt & Hilka's
