J. C. Carter, age 89, of Gray, passed away on Tuesday May 7, 2019 at St. Jospeh Hospital in London.

He was born in Knox County to the late Travis Carter and Nancy Sasser Carter. J.C. was a member of New Vision Pentecostal Church and was a US Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Joy Carter; Daughters, Brenda Rose Hatfield and Barbara Sue Carter; Siblings, Ivy Smith, Julie Brock, Tenny Rose, Everrett Carter, Edward Carter, and Carl Carter.

J.C. is survived by his Daughter, Linda Garland; Son, James Carter and wife Donna; Grandchildren; Charles Farmer, Daniel Farmer, Anthony Garland, Jayla Scott, Nicole Osborn, Michael Carter, and April Goodin; a host of great grandchildren; Sister, Laura Adams; Brothers, William Harrison Carter, Robert Carter, and Travis Carter Jr., and by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Friday May 10, 2019 at New Vision Pentecostal Church, Hwy 25 in Gray.

Funeral service will be at 1pm on Saturday May 11th at New Vision Pentecostal Church, with Rev. Michael Addison and Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Foley Cemetery with military honors.
