William C. Burgess passed away on Monday, April 17, 2006 at the Southington Care Center. He had been a resident of Southington for the past three years. He was born February 2, 1914 in Hazleton, PA to the late James and Maude Burgess. A graduate of Hazelton High School, he also graduated from Syracuse University and was a veteran of World War II. In 1940, he married the former Margaret Hill, also of Hazleton, who predeceased him in 1992. In 1954, they moved to Allentown, PA where he was employed as Vice President of Luckenbach and Johnson for 45 years until his retirement.
Survivors: Mr. Burgess is survived by his son James H. Burgess, a niece, Selina H. McArdle and her husband James and their family of Cheshire, CT. He is also survived by a nephew, William Hill and his wife Jean and their family of Cape May, NJ.
Services: A memorial service will be held at the Orchards in Southington where Mr. Burgess resided and had a wide circle of friends. There are no calling hours and the private internment next to his wife will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Hazleton, PA. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N.
