Dr. Michael J. Singer, age 37, of Seattle, Wash., died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. officiating at the service was the Rev. Gerald Foley. Cremation has taken place at Seattle, Wash.
Michael was born Oct. 31, 1963 in Manitowoc, son of John and Nona Miller Singer. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1982. Michael graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in molecular biology. Michael then completed his Ph.D. degree in molecular biology at the University of Oregon in 1994. He received his post doctorate in 1996 at the University of Washington. Michael was a research scientist with EPOCH Pharmaceuticals in Redmond, Wash.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Singer, Seattle, wash.; his parents: John and Nona Singer; and two brothers and sisters-in-law: David and Joy Singer and Steve and Jean Singer, all of Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Matt and Sara Wood and Amanda and Natyalie Singer. Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Clarence and Lillian Singer and his maternal grandparents: Victor and Flora Miller.
The Pfeffer Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
