Linda was born on April 26, 1948 in Sabine County, Texas to Willie Samuel Ferguson and Nettie Irene Rogers Ferguson. She obtained her bachelor degree at Stephen F. Austin State University and went on to become a Home Health Aide. She attended Northwest Church of Christ. Linda loved her family and her cats.
She is survived by her son, David Chance and wife, Nina of Adamstown, Maryland, Gerald Chance and wife, Sara of Saint Augustine, Florida and Michael Chance of Minnesota; brothers, Bertz Ferguson, Gaylon Ferguson, Donald Ferguson and Johnny Ferguson; sister, Eva Lunsford; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her beloved cats, Walker, Murphy, Marcie, Cookie, and Cash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Samuel Ferguson and Nettie Irene Ferguson; her brothers, Glynn Ferguson and Ronny Ferguson; and her sister, Lorraine Weetjeen.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Springhill Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas under the direction of Starr Funeral Home. Visitation will begin thirty minutes before the service at the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her family.
