Danny Dale "Dan" Atwood, 66, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.

He was born in Liberty, Kentucky September 23, 1954, a son of the late Elmer Lee and Floye (Burchell) Atwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Archie Atwood.

On May 23, 1976, he married Laura (Ray) Atwood and she survives in Bellefontaine. He is also survived by a daughter, Kelly Atwood of Washington D.C.; two sons, Daniel (Ashley) Atwood of Salt Lake City, Utah and Andrew Atwood of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Abigail and Samuel Atwood and several nieces and nephews.

Dan worked as an accountant prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine. He enjoyed golfing, was a fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and was always willing to help others as well as a fine member of the community.

Pastor Jeffory Willetts will officiate a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
