Wilber died at Evenglow Lodge Health Center. He was born at Cropsey, a son of Emery Albert and Marietta [PUTNAM] EYRE. He married Zella Rae SHEPPARD the 04th of November 1931, at Pontiac. She died August 25, 2006. They had a daughter, Donna Jean Eyre that lived to the age of 9 years. One son, Laverne, of Springfield, Illinois; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann DEGENHART and David Matthew EYRE; three great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and one step great granddaughter. One daughter and five sisters preceded him in death. Mr. EYRE was educated in Cropsey schools. When he first came to Pontiac he was employed as an Ice Cutter at Pontiac Ice and Fuel Co. He later was employed by Commonwealth Edison as Line Forman for 37 ½ years.
