Zella Rae Eyre, 93, of Pontiac died at Beulah Land Christian Home, Flanagan. She was born Emington, a daughter of Alvin and Loretta (Shepard) Lewis. She married Wilbur E. Eyre on Nov. 4, 1952, at Pontiac. He died Jan. 31, 1995.
Survivors include one son, LaVerne (Carolyn) Eyre, Springfield; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Degenhart, Colorado Springs, Colo., and David Matthew Eyre, Tucson, Ariz.; nine great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren, Karen Green, Lisa Heidler, William Chamberlain and Robert Chamberlain; and two brothers, Gene Lewis, Pontiac, and Vern Lewis, Streator. She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. Zella was educated in Livingston County schools and was employed at JC Penney in Pontiac and then for 20 years at Lehman's Men's Store in Pontiac.
