United States Army Sergeant First Class served with the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded in combat in South Korea on April 4, 1951 and died the following day from the wounds and awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
