GREER, SC - Agnes Lourene Lister, 91, formerly of 637 Arlington Road, died October 20, 1995, at Piedmont Lutheran Health Care.
A native of Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late James H. Platt and Belle Underwood Van Patton and was the wife of the late Roy L. Lister.
She was a graduate of Asheville Normal Teachers College and attended Wofford College. She was a schoolteacher for 37 years, before she retired, and had taught in Greenville and Spartanburg counties. She was a member of the Greer Garden Club and of Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty L. Brannon of Greer; a son, Larry L. Lister of Greer; a brother, Melvin Van Patton of Columbia; two sisters, Blanche McElrath of Greer, and Eugenia Tollison of Greer; four grandchildren, Debby L. Wilson, Dale L. Black, T. Van Brannon and Paula C. Brannon; four great-grandchildren, Amanda Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Kala Howell and Rose Howell.
Memorials may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, Family Life Center, 201 North Main Street, Greer, SC 29650.
Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at Memorial United Methodist church, with the Revs. John Rush and George Strait officiating, and burial in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Van Patton, Gary Van Patton, Jackie Atkins, Olin Atkins, Joe Bruce, Harold Powers, Jerry Wilson, Rick Black, Billy Glenn and Tommy Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wesley Davenport Sunday School Class of Memorial United Methodist Church and Catherine Ross. The family is at the home of Betty L. Brannon, 108 Cascade Drive, Greer.
Visitation: 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. -- The Wood Mortuary, Greer.
