"Bertie" was living at Livingston Manor in Rural Pontiac at the time of her death. She had been a resident there for a few months following a stroke. Before then she lived at 1226 N. Mill St. in a house built by her husband and boys.
She died at 1:25 am April 18, 1994 at St. James Hospital in Pontiac.
Her funeral was held at 11 am Thursday at Duffy Funeral Home. Rev. Gretchen Steinbaugh officiated. Burial was at Rooks Creek Cemetery in rural Pontiac.
Bertie was a sales clerk for Spurgeons Department Store for 26 years, retiring in 1980. Prior to that she was a Beauty Counselor representative.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pontiac; Ladies of the Moose Lodge and past member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Rebecca Lodge. She attended Lomitch Elementary School near Ocoya.
