"John C. Abner, 70, of 2919 N.E. Parvin Road, died Tuesday at the home. He was born in Beebe, Ark. {sic], and had lived in this area 31 years. Mr. Abner was a machinist for Thermo-Dynamics, Inc., before he retired in 1975.

He leaves three sons, Bill Abner and John Abner of Riverside and Ronnie Abner of Kansas City; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda McCoy of Lamar, Mo., and Mrs. Joan Newman of Kansas City; a sister, Mrs. Eva Muir of Weldon, Ark.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Newcomer White Chapel with burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, January 15, 1981
